Welcome to "Heartwork From the 5th" - my artist journey

Do I date these? If so, it's April 30, 2025. This is going to start messy - as do all new things - so I hope you are here for the mild chaos of it all! 

Won't lie to you, my good friend ChatGPT helped me come up with my blog name (no shame). I am very into Astrology as a tool to better know thy self and as it so happens, my chart is chalked FULL of creative placements. Venus, Neptune, Mercury and my lovely Capricorn Sun are doing a dance in the 5th house, known as the house of pleasure, and is primarily associated with creativity and self-expression. Creative expression is a need in my life. Whether through words, through paint, through photography, I am always intentional. And it is always from the heart. 

I've lived for almost 4 decades and for most of that I have denied myself the divine gifts I've been blessed with because I thought that in todays world it was a waste of time. I needed a "real job" (cue eyeroll). Well, my life has ended up in such a way that I have found myself as a homemaker, a mom of 2 beautiful children that I homeschool, I pour wine on the weekends for a woman owned winery and I am partnered with an incredible skin care company that I rep from home. I live anything but an ordinary life and while I do not begrudge anyone of their chosen professions, I have realized that I am meant for an unconventional working lifestyle. In that realization, I have given myself the permission to truly become the artist the little girl version of me has always wanted. 

That's it! That's the intro. I'm excited to share as I grow and develop in the type of artist I envision for myself, to talk about the highs and lows, to give tips and insights where I can and genuinely just take you along for the ride.
